Wayne DMV Closed, But Drivers Get a Break

Local offices are shut down due to flooding, but DMV extends all expirations until Sept. 10.

The Wayne Department of Motor Vehicles offices and inspection station is still closed due to flooding, but drivers whose permits or registration are expiring got a reprieve from the state Tuesday.

The state Motor Vehicle Commission announced that all DMV offices and inspection stations are open, except for offices in Wayne, Randolph and South Brunswick, and inspection stations in Wayne, Randolph, South Brunswick, Morristown, and Paramus.

But because of those closures, the chief administrator of the Motor Vehicle Commission announced that all expirations for drivers licenses, permits, non-driver IDs, vehicle registrations and inspections have been extended until Sept. 10.
