Wayne Doctor Receives Prestigious Award
Dr. Reza Farhangfar works at Chilton Hospital and runs Wayne Hills Medical Associates.

Dr. Reza Farhangfar, a Wayne resident, has received an APPLE Award by the New Jersey State Nurses Association.
Farhangfar, a pulmonologist, is one of only 14 physicians in the state to receive the award. He began working at Chilton in 1992. He was elected president of the medical staff in 2012. He often helps patients in Chilton’s Intensive Care Unit. He must often speak to critically-ill patients’ families. He also runs Wayne Hills Medical Associates, a group medical practice in Wayne.
“He is able to gently have the challenging end-of-life conversations with families, empathizing with their pain and sadness and then guiding them through the difficult decisions,” said Joanne Reich, Chilton’s vice president and chief nursing officer. “Every encounter he has with his patients is kind and caring.”
