Wayne Election 2017: Local Candidate List
There are several local races this year.

WAYNE, NJ — Tuesday is Election Day. We have compiled a list of all of the candidates running on the local level.
Township Mayor (four-year term):
Democrat Ray Egatz is running against 10-year incumbent Republican Chris Vergano.

Vergano soundly defeated Council President Lonni Miller Ryan in a June primary. It was the first time he faced a primary candidate. Egatz, a Wayne Democratic leader, previously ran for Township Council and lost.
Township Council (three, three-year seats):

Republicans Joseph Schweighardt, Jill Sasso and David Varano are running against Democrats Susan Deile, James Durgana and Diane Douthat. Schweighardt is the only incumbent among the six candidates.
Board of Education (three, three-year terms): Donald Palvak, Catherine Kazan, Sean Duffy, Seth Rosen, Daniel Corcoran and Christian Smith.
Palvak, Kazan and Smith are incumbents.
