WAYNE, NJ — Firefighters from Wayne Company #5 rolled up to the Primrose School this past week, to let young students at the private preschool get some hands-on education about fire prevention.

National Fire Prevention Week is observed from Oct. 8 through 14, when firefighters around the country help teach people in their communities of all ages about how to stay safe in a fire, and also avoid fire-related incidents.

The preschool students toured the fire truck, learning about fire safety and the various firefighting equipment on the trucks, said Primrose Schools. The Packanack Lake Company firefighters also taught the preschoolers about controlling the water hose pressure, as they sprayed water across the parking lot.
