Wayne Girl Who Captured Hearts Dies of Cancer
The six-year-old died on an inoperable form of brain cancer on Monday morning.

A Wayne girl whose brave struggle inspired countless neighbors, friends and strangers passed away on Monday morning, according to a report by the Cliffview Pilot.
Six-year-old Lily LaRue Anderson was diagnosed in May of 2014 with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) according to the report.
A tumor developed in her brain stem, where it affected motor control and sensation, the report said.

The median survival length post-diagnosis is 9 months, and Lily lasted 11, according to the report.

A GoFundMe fundraising campaign inspired over $53,000 in donations in support of Lily and her family. A Facebook page for her has garnered nearly 5,000 likes.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. in Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home on 567 Ratzer Road in Wayne. The mass will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley RC Church in Wayne.
Visiting hours are from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday.
