Wayne High Schools' Rankings Are 'A Tribute' To Students' And Teachers' 'Excellent Work': Superintendent

Wayne Hills and Wayne Valley were ranked in the top 500 high schools in the country by Newsweek recently.

WAYNE, NJ — Superintendent Mark Toback praised the work of students and staff after it was revealed that Wayne Hills and Wayne Valley were ranked in the top 500 high schools in the United States by Newsweek this week.

Wayne Hills was ranked 222nd while Wayne Valley was ranked 417th. The rankings represents how well schools prepare students for college.

excellent work of our students and staff at all grade levels," Toback said in a statement. "It is with great pride that we join our residents in celebrating the addition of a new chapter in a long history of achievement at both of our high schools."

Wayne Hills jumped 37 spots on the list this year.

"Our students' success at the high school level can be attributed to not only our outstanding faculty here, but also to the elementary and middle school educators who taught our students along the way," said Wayne Hills Principal Maureen Weir. "Also, the supportive families that value education and entrust their children to our schools and work to help make our accomplishments possible. We are very proud of our achievement."

Wayne Valley Principal Ken Palczewski echoed Weir's sentiment.

"We are proud to be recognized by such a prestigious publication as Newsweek for the varied accomplishments

of our student body and staff," Palczewski said. "Being awarded this honor reflects the significance that the Wayne community places on our student's education."
