Wayne Hills Field Hockey Wins County Title, Completes Threepeat: Report

This year's championship required 'more learning and effort,' coach Tina Londino said.

The Wayne Hills High School girls’ field hockey team won its third consecutive Passaic County championship Friday by beating Pompton Lakes 1-0, The Record reported.

“I am so proud of these girls that they kept working as hard as they could and with all the heart and intensity that they showed,” said coach Londino in the reports.

Londino said that although the team won in 2013, 2014, and now this season, the word “dynasty” is not one she, or her players, would like to use, the report stated.

“You can’t look at things in terms of legacy,” said Amy Prol, a member of all three championship-winning teams. “Every year is different.”

Liz Bryne, another member of all three title-winning teams, scored the game’s only goal with 10 minutes left in regulation, the report said.
