Wayne Hills Gets Shutout Against Old Tappan In Championship Game

Wayne Hills fought and fought, but in the end, it wasn’t enough.

The Patriots lost to the Old Tappan Golden Knights in the North 1, Group 4 championship game 17-0 Saturday at MetLife Stadium.

Old Tappan’s defense was in top form all game long and sacked Patriot quarterback Brendan De Vera six times.

The game was scoreless heading into halftime despite Hills gaining 134 yards.

Old Tappan recovered a fumble with about four minutes left in the third quarter. Old Tappan went up 17-0 on a 37-yard field goal with 7:18 left in the game.

Wayne Hills kept fighting until the end of the game, but De Vera was sacked for a big loss with 3:54 left in the fourth quarter.
