Wayne Little League Team's Magical Run Ends
The town's 12U All-Stars came up a little short in their quest for a state championship.
WAYNE, NJ — One township Little League team's magical season came to an end recently.
The 12U All-Stars finished the runner up in the New Jersey State Little League Championship recently when it lost 10-2. It is just the second time a Wayne team to play in a state championship game. A team from Wayne won the Little League World Series in 1970.
The team won the Section 1 championship earlier this season.

Two other Little League teams had championship-winning seasons.
The 11U All-Stars won the District 2 title by beating Pequannock 10-2 and advanced to the sectional tournament. It is the first district title in team history.

The 10U All-Stars beat Ridgewood 19-0 in four innings to win the Section 1 title, the first in team history, Wayne Little League officials said.
