Sex Offender In Wayne Imprisoned 10 Years For Possessing Child Porn

The man was also sentenced to three years in prison in 2014 for distributing child pornography.

WAYNE, NJ — A registered sex offender who lived in Wayne was sentenced to 10 years in prison Monday for possession child pornography. Robert Klemt will serve his second prison sentence for sexual abuse against children.

Klemt was convicted in 2014 of endangering the welfare of a child and distributing child pornography in Essex County. He was sentenced to three years in prison and had to register as a Tier 2 (moderate risk) sex offender, according to state records.

Someone with an IP address connected to Wayne accessed a child-pornography website in May 2019, the Department of Homeland Security found. Law enforcement connected the IP address to Klemt and visited his Wayne home in June 2020. Klemt acknowledged that he accessed websites with child pornography, according to the criminal complaint.

Investigators found about 70 images and videos on Klemt's computer that depicted sexual abuse of children. The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of possessing child pornography.

Following Klemt's prison term, he must undergo 10 years of supervised release.
