Wayne Man Had Cocaine In Pickup Truck: Police

Michael K. MIller, 50, had a white powder around his nostrils and was flailing his arms during a traffic stop Wednesday night, police said.

WAYNE, NJ — A township man was charged with possession of cocaine after police stopped his pickup on Hamburg Turnpike Wednesday night.

Michael K. Miller, 50, of Colfax Road, was speeding in his 1997 GMC Sierra pickup on the heavily-traveled roadway when Officer Adrian Sulejmani stopped him at 7:50 p.m., said Detective Capt. Laurence Martin. The pickup's front windshield was cracked and broken and the truck had no front license plate, he said.

Police saw white powder residue around Miller's nostrils and he was very agitated and flailing his arms, the captain said.

Police saw a clear vial with white powder residue on top of paperwork and a prescription bottle with suspected cocaine in it, along with four hollowed-out pens with cocaine residue inside, Martin said.

Miller was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, driving under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, Martin said.

Miller was taken to police headquarters, processed and released in accordance with bail regulations pending an appearance in Passaic County Superior Court, the captain said.
