Cocaine Suspect Blames His Powdered Nose On Donut

Loaded semi-automatic gun, drugs also found at traffic stop.

A New Jersey man told police during a traffic stop the white powder on his face wasn’t cocaine — it was there because he just ate a donut.

Police also found a 9-mm semi-automatic gun in the car, authorities said.

Octavio Delasuaree, 30, cut Wayne police officers off as he was driving on Route 23 north at 7:30 p.m., Capt. Laurence Martin said. Delasuaree went from the far left lane to the exit lane and police pulled him over near Newark Pompton Turnpike.

Police said Delasuaree’s hands were ”shaking uncontrollably,” he was breathing heavy, and he had a white powder around his nostrils and mouth, Martin said; Delasuaree told the officers he had just eaten a donut.

Police found a Sig Sauer 9-mm semi-automatic weapon on the passenger’s side of the car loaded with four hollow-point bullets, Martin said.

Delasuaree told police the weapon for “self-protection,” Martin said.

Police also found 17 Oxycodone pills, suspected cocaine, and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, authorities said.

Delasuaree, a convicted felon, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possessoin of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of hollow-point bullets, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and issued multiple vehicle summonses, Martin said.

Delasuaree was transported to Wayne Police Headquarters for processing. Bail was set at $100,000 with no 10 percent option.
