Wayne Man Injured In Parkway Crash: Police

Breaking: John Scillieri, 37, rear-ended a salt truck with his Dodge pickup at about 8:30 a.m., police said.

WAYNE, NJ — A township man was injured after he crashed into the back of a salt truck on the Garden State Parkway Wednesday morning, State Police said.

John Scillieri, 37, rear-ended the truck with his Dodge pickup at about 8:30 a.m. on the southbound side of the parkway in Union at milepost 142, said State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez said.

Scillieri was injured and taken to Overlook Hospital in Summit. The injuries were not life-threatening, Goez said. The snowplow driver was not injured.

Scillieri was issued two summonses: One for careless driving and one for following too closely, Goez said.
