Wayne McDonald's Closed Following Fire
The blaze is thought to have originated in a deep fryer, police said.
WAYNE, N.J. — Police said a deep fryer is thought to have been where a fire originated in a McDonald's on Hamburg Turnpike Sunday, forcing the store to close early.
The restaurant will remain closed until township health inspectors say it is OK for it to reopen, said Detective Capt. Laurence Martin.
Firefighters contained the fire to the kitchen area, the captain said.

"The fire department knocking it down quickly," Martin said. "No injuries to report."
Fire inspectors were at the restaurant Sunday afternoon, Martin said, and they are "almost positive" that the blaze began in a fryer.
