Wayne has been named one of the best places to live in 2014 by Money Magazine.
As part of it’s Best Places to Live in 2014 list, Wayne received favorable numbers in various categories, from education to leisure activities.

With a population of 55,254, the average median family income in Wayne is $123,728. Wayne received a cost of living index score of 117, with 100 being the national average. The township’s projected job growth between 2013 and 2018 is 5.2 percent.
When it comes to housing, the median home price in Wayne is $369,000, with property taxes averaging $11,700.

Money Magazine also found there are 170 colleges, universities and professional schools within 30 miles of Wayne. What is more, the township’s reading test scores are 23 percent above the state average and 19.4 percent above for math.
Wayne’s air quality index was ranked at 89 percent.
As for crime in Wayne, there were 2 personal crime incidents and 14 property crime incidents per 1,000 people.
Money Magazine found there are 114 movie theaters, 11,026 and 836 bars all within 15 miles of Wayne. There are also 340 public golf courses and 495 museums within 30 miles.
