Wayne Native, DePaul Catholic Football Star Michael Dwumfour Commits To Penn State

Michael Dwumfour, the nationally-recruited DePaul Catholic senior, announced he has committed to playing collegiate football at Pennsylvania State University.

Dwumfour, a 6-foot, 2-inch defensive tackle, posted the announcement on Twitter Tuesday afternoon. He received offers from several Division-I schools, including Penn State, Boston College, and Wake Forest University.

Blackshoediaries.com, a blog covering Penn State athletics, reported that Dwumfour is the first defensive tackle of the Class of 2016 to commit to playing football at the collegiate level.

Dwumfour attended Penn State’s camp this past weekend for a 7-on-7 tournament and was presented with an offer. He immediately placed the Nittany Lions into his top three schools, along with Pittsburgh and West Virginia.
