Wayne Native Is One Of Leaders At U.S. Women's Open
Marina Alex is tied for second. She finished the first round in first place.

Marina Alex, a Wayne Hills High School alumnus, is one of leaders at the U.S. Women’s Open.
Alex, after a 4-under 66 in the first round Thursday, is 3 under par after seven holes of the second round Friday. She is one stroke behind leader Amy Yang who has played through five holes.
Alex is a second-year LPGA player and competing in her second U.S. Open. The 24-year-old first competed in the event in 2009 as an amateur, NJ.com reported.

“I’m not a front-runner for this tournament, really,” Alex said. “So I’m just going to go out there and have fun tomorrow with my caddie and just keep doing the things that we’ve been doing and just see where that puts me.”
