Wayne Overdose Awareness Vigil Offers Support, Community

The township and Wayne Alliance will host the fourth annual vigil, with the Black Poster Project on display.

WAYNE, NJ — A candlelight vigil in Wayne will honor those who've lost their lives from overdose, and offer support for those who've lost a loved one.

The township and Wayne Alliance will host the fourth annual overdose awareness and vigil on Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Officials said it is "a night of remembrance and awareness in support of those who have lost loved ones."

The event, which will be held at Town Hall, coincides with International Overdose Awareness Day.

On display will be the Black Poster Project, an art piece that travels across the state and honors those who have died from "lives lost to addiction."

Those who attend will be asked to follow CDC guidelines, which include wearing a mask and practicing social distancing, officials said.
