WAYNE, NJ — Mayor Christopher Vergano reported snowfall totals of 26 inches in Wayne Township from this week's nor'easter, saying it was "the biggest snow storm we've had in a number of years."

The National Weather Service has yet to report totals that high, but if these reader photos are any indication, the nor'easter could indeed be the biggest storm in years.

Patch put out a call for your photos from the storm, and our readers delivered. Below are some shots from Wayne, taken on Monday and Tuesday:

An Operator at the NWS's Mount Holly office told Patch this week that the record books will take some time to update if records were in fact broken.

Snowfall records are generally measured over a 24-hour period. With this week's storm stretching over 24 hours, weather officials will face a unique challenge.

The National Weather Service total still has Wayne at 15 inches, but was last updated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Vergano, in a Tuesday news conference, thanked Department of Public Works employees for their road-clearing efforts, which for many included 12-hour days.

"I know it hasn't been easy," Vergano said.
