Wayne Police Seek Help Identifying Assault Suspect
Video footage shows a man hitting another man multiple times outside a Wayne nightclub, police said.
WAYNE, N.J. — Police are asking for help in finding the person who allegedly assaulted a man outside of a nightclub last November.
On Nov. 14 at 1:30 a.m., police officers responded to Lace Gentlemen's Night Club on Galesi Drive on a report of a "male outside with his head split open, bleeding, and going in and out of consciousness," said Detective Capt. Laurence W. Martin.
Officers found the man right outside the club's front door and rendered first aid; the Wayne First Aid Squad transported the man to Saint Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson, Martin said.

Surveillance footage showed the man approached three white men who were smoking outside the front door; a man wearing a light-colored shirt hit the victim in the face, knocking him backwards, and again while he was unconscious on the ground, the detective captain said.
The group fled the area without rendering aid, Martin said.
