Wayne Revises School Schedule: 5 Dates To Know In The 2022-23 Year

There are still several weeks of summer left to enjoy. But here are some key dates for the upcoming school year.

WAYNE, NJ — There are still 53 days of summer break before Wayne students go back to school — but who's counting? As the school year approaches, however, there are a few dates parents might want to mark on their calendars.

The Wayne Township Public School District's Board of Education approved a revised calendar Thursday for the 2022-23 school year:

Sept. 6: first day of school for students. While staff have inservice days Sept. 1 and 2, students will return to school the Tuesday after Labor Day.

Sept. 26-27: schools closed for Rosh Hashanah.

Oct. 5: schools closed for Yom Kippur

Nov. 8 and 10-11: Nov. 8 is a full staff inservice day, while the New Jersey Education Association's convention will fall on Nov. 10-11. Students will be off for those three days.

Nov. 23: a minimal day the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
