Wayne Rotary sponsors 5K and Family Fun Run

To raise money for local charities and schools

Students from all three high schools in Wayne will be participating in a Wayne Rotary sponsored 5K race on May 20th, which will also feature a one-mile Family Fun Run, with everyone eligible.

DePaul High School will be the scene of this epic event that will award prizes for winners in many different categories, including top three overall male and female runners, top three Wayne High School student male and female runners, and first place male and female age categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, plus 80 and over.

For the one-mile Family Fun Run, there will be awards for the top three overall male and female participants, and ribbons for children 12 and under.

Price for registration is $25 per runner, and $25 for the Family run. The age discounts will include Students ($19), and children five and under (free). Each participant will receive an official event T-shirt. Checks can be made out to “The Wayne Rotary Foundation”.

This 5K and Family Fun Run event will help Wayne Rotary meet its mission of raising money to support the Wayne Community. A large portion of the profit will directly support the DePaul Catholic HS, Wayne Valley HS, and Wayne Hills HS cross country teams.

There are a limited number of sponsorships for this event still available, for companies and individuals.

The course is in process of being USATF Certified by Tristate Timing. This race will be timed by Tristate Timing. An outline of the official course, plus directions on how to get there are contained in the event website.

Wayne Rotary Club Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established in 1958. Wayne Rotary members volunteer locally, regionally and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto "Service Above Self".
