Wayne School District 2015-16 School Calendar

Although the first bell on the 2015-16 school year won’t ring for months, here is the calendar for the upcoming school year. To help out, we’ve compiled a listing of important dates in the coming year:

• Sept. 3: First Day for Students
• Sept. 7: Labor Day
• Sept. 14 and 15: Rosh Hashanah
• Sept. 23: Yom Kippur
• Oct. 12: First Staff Inservice Day, Students Off
• Nov. 2 and 4: Elementary Minimal Day — Parent Conference
• Nov. 3: Full Staff Inservice Day — Students Off, Evening Parent Conferences
• Nov. 5 and 6: NJEA Convention — Schools Closed
• Nov. 25: Minimal Day — Start of Thanksgiving Holiday
• Nov. 26 and 27: Thanksgiving
• Dec. 24 to Jan. 1: Holiday Recess
• Jan. 16: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
• Feb. 12 and 15: Winter Recess/Presidents’ Day
• March 25: Good Friday
• April 4 through 8: Spring Recess
• May 30: Memorial Day
• June 22 and 23: Last Days for Students — Minimal Days
• June 24: Last Day for Teachers

Unused Emergency Days — Schools Closed

Four unused emergency days: May 26, 27, and 31, and June 1

Three unused emergency days: May 26, 27, and 31

Two unused emergency days: May 27 and May 31

One unused emergency day: May 27

Make-Up Emergency Days — Schools Open

If more than the allotted emergency days are used, school will be in session on the following make-up days:

If one day is needed: April 8

If two days are needed: April 7 and 8

If three days are needed: April 6, 7, and 8
