Wayne Schools Delayed 90 Minutes Friday Amid Snowy Forecast, Additional Changes Possible
Officials didn't rule out the possibility of additional changes, including schools closing.

WAYNE, NJ — Wayne Township Public Schools announced a 90-minute delay for Friday. Officials said they'll continue monitoring the anticipated snowstorm and didn't rule out the possibility of any additional changes, "including a possible school closing."
Here are the start times with the 90-minute delay:
- high school: 8:50 a.m.
- middle school: 9:30 a.m.
- elementary schools: 10:25 a.m.
- preschool a.m.: 9:50 a.m.
- preschool p.m.: 12:45 p.m.
Buses will run on a 90-minute delay. Before Care for Friday is canceled.

Forecasters expect Wayne to get 1-3 inches of snow overnight, with additional accumulation of up to an inch possible during the day Friday.
The National Weather Service placed Wayne and portions of northeast New Jersey under a winter-weather advisory from midnight to noon Friday. The region could see 3-5 inches of snow, according to the agency.

Officials said to plan on slippery road conditions, especially during morning commutes.
Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency for all of New Jersey, beginning at 10 p.m. Thursday. Murphy recommended that anyone who can work remotely or start later in the day should do so. Read more: NJ Declares State Of Emergency; Up To 6 Inches Of Snow Projected
Here's the National Weather Service's forecast for Wayne as of 6:30 p.m. Thursday:
- Thursday night: Snow, mainly after 1am. Low around 27. Light north wind. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
- Friday: Snow, mainly before 10am. High near 35. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. West wind 5 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
- Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 18. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Northwest wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
