Wayne Schools Rank High For Bullying And Violence
The district is near the top of the state Department of Education's recently released list for the 2016-17 school year.

WAYNE, NJ — The public school district ranked high for bullying and violent incidents, numbers released recently by the state show.
Wayne had 41 incidents, or 1.2 incidents per 100 students, of violence, vandalism, weapons, drug use, and bullying, good for 20th highest in the state according to the report. Paterson ranked the highest in Passaic County with 174 incidents.
The state Department of Education released its list of public schools with bullying and violent episodes. The figures, compiled annually from data received from school districts across the state, were recently released as part of the Department of Education's 2016-17 district performance reports.
