Wayne Woman Confronted Police At Boyfriend's Traffic Stop: Authorities
Serena D. Jaber, 19, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, police said.

WAYNE, NJ — A township woman was charged with resisting arrest after she screamed at police officers during a traffic stop while they questioned her boyfriend, police said.
Serena D. Jaber, 19, was arrested after she arrived at a traffic stop involving her boyfriend, Jason Rivera, 26, who police stopped at Black Oak Ridge Road and Kime Avenue for equipment violations Tuesday afternoon, said Detective Capt. Laurence Martin.
Rivera was extremely nervous and his hands were trembling when police spoke with him; police smelled burnt marijuana coming from the inside of the 2006 silver BMW Rivera was driving, Martin said. Police found marijuana in Rivera's sock, he said.

Rivera was on the phone with Jaber, who said she was coming to the scene to intervene, Martin said. Jaber arrived and yelled "why did you stop him!" at police and was warned not to approach the police.
Jaber complained that police harassed her and "always circled her residence," Martin said.

Jaber continued to yell and scream at police, hung out of the side of her vehicle and would not leave so police arrested her, the captain said.
Police found 50 Ecstasy pills, a clear bag and bong each containing suspected marijuana, 34 Xanax pills stamped "S 90 3," Martin said.
In addition to the resisting arrest offense, Jaber was charged with disorderly conduct and released on a summons complaint. Rivera was charged with various drug-possession offenses and two counts of distributing a controlled dangerous substance, Martin said. He was taken to the Passaic County Jail for detention hearings.
