Wayne's Greg Olsen Sets NFL Tight End Record
Olsen is the first tight end in NFL history to have three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.

WAYNE, N.J. — Three time Pro Bowler Greg Olsen is an NFL record-holder.
The Wayne Hills alumnus is the first tight end in NFL history to record three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, ESPN.com reported.
Olsen got the record on a 17-yard catch from Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton in the team's 33-16 loss to the eventual NFC champion Atlanta Falcons, the report said.

Olsen, 31, finished the season with 1,051 yards and 77 catches.
He topped the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in 2014 for a career-best 84 catches for 1,008 yards.

He had 77 catches and a career-high of 1,104 yards in 2015 and helped the Panthers get to the Super Bowl
"He's a special man,'' Newton told ESPN in December. "One thing people don't realize about Greg is his knack for understanding football. His IQ is up there. It makes my job a lot easier, especially throwing to him.''

Olsen was also a finalist for the NFL's Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. He founded two nonprofits after his mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and his unborn son was diagnosed with a heart defect. The other two nominees, Eli Manning and Larry Fitzgerald, won the award.
