Wayne's Strengths And Challenges: Weigh In As Township Develops New Master Plan
Residents are asked to participate in a public survey, which will help guide the formation of the first new Master Plan in 30 years.

WAYNE, NJ — As officials are working on a new blueprint to guide Wayne's long-term growth and development, residents are asked to weigh in on the township's greatest strengths and challenges.
An online survey allows neighbors to select from a variety of options in these two categories, plus share up to 10 favorite spots in the township and 10 places they feel need improvement. This will help the project team understand the needs and aspirations of the community as they develop a new Master Plan.
Wayne Township has not created a new Master Plan in 30 years, though amendments have been made over the years, and officials also have reviewed the 1994 document periodically. The Master Plan will include chapters that focus on land use and development, open space and recreation, community facilities, transportation and mobility, and utility services.

The process of developing a new plan began on Aug. 22, and residents will have several chances to give their feedback, both through these surveys and in-person, over the next 10 months or so.
Three public meetings are planned in December, officials said.
