WAYNE, NJ — A diner's practice of adding a gratuity to kids' bills has generated a lot of comments on social media from people who are both in favor and against it.
A mother informed Patch that the Wayne Hills Diner was charging her daughter and friends a gratuity because, according to her, the diner's servers do not make enough money. A man at the diner said it is a private business and the owners have the right to charge whomever they want to.
