What Were The Most Popular NJ Baby Names Of 2016?
It was actually a tie for two girls' names last year.

The U.S. Social Security Administration has released the most popular baby names in New Jersey for 2016.
The top ten names were:

| 10 | Alexander | 424 | Madison | 307 |
The most popular baby names in the United States were Noah and Emma, Nancy Berryhill, acting commissioner of the Social Security Administration announced last week.

The other top four baby names for boys and girls nationwide were: Liam, William, Mason and James, for boys. For girls, they were: Olivia, Ava, Sophia and Isabella.
The agency began compiling the baby name list in 1997, with names dating back to 1880. At the time of a child’s birth, parents supply the name to the agency when applying for a child’s Social Security card, thus making Social Security America’s source for the most popular baby names.
