Bill Charlap, director of the Jazz Studies program at William Paterson University, has been nominated for a 2016 Grammy Award for the album “The Silver Lining: The Songs of Jerome Kern.”
Charlap is one of the world’s premier jazz pianists in the world. He became director of the Jazz Studies program in September. He was previously nominated for Grammys for ”Somewhere: The Songs of Leonard Bernstein” and ”The Bill Charlap Trio: Living at the Village Vanguard.”
Charlap collaborated with Tony Bennett to create “The Silver Lining” album.
