Woman Threatens To 'Blow Up' Passaic Co. School A Day After Texas Shooting: Prosecutor
The threats came a day after the Uvalde shooting, which put NJ schools on higher alert for potential threats, according to authorities.
PROSPECT PARK, NJ — One day after the Texas school shooting, a woman threatened to blow up a Passaic County elementary school, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.
Veronika L. Callirgos became irate during a phone call Wednesday with an administrator at Prospect Park School #1, authorities said. During the call, Callirgos said she was going to go to the school and beat up children and that she would blow up the school, the prosecutor's office said.
The incident came a day after a gunman killed 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. While the prosecutor's office didn't note any apparent connection, Callirgos's alleged threats came when law enforcement increased their presence at New Jersey schools in response to the mass shooting.
