WEST WINDSOR, NJ — Authorities have identified a woman who died after driving through a police barricade on Friday, according to a report from NJ.com.
Bassey Adjah, 43, of Media, PA, was identified as the person who died after driving through barricades set up on Route 1 South, the report said.
Around 5:20 a.m. on Friday, while police, EMS and investigators were at the scene of an earlier crash involving a tractor-trailer, Adjah drove through the barricades set up on Route 1 South at Harrison Street, police said.
As a result of the incident, authorities said she crashed into the trailer of the tractor-trailer, which remained across the road.
The vehicle narrowly missed emergency personnel on scene, and Adjah died from her injuries, police said.
She is survived by her 10-year-old daughter, according to a memorial fund started to support her and funeral expenses.
Route 1 South between Harrison Street and Washington Road remained closed for around seven hours following the crash.
