The West Windsor Township Council approved $2.1 million to fix Township roads at Monday's (August 24, 2026) Council meeting. Most of the roads in the contract are local residential roads, with larger collector roads frequently funded by grant money.
Roads were selected based on a prior road evaluation study and evaluations by DPW (Department of Public Works) and Engineering. This is not the "end of the road" for Township roads. Engineering is in the process of hiring a new company to perform a road evaluation that will give us updated road conditions that will allow us to optimize selection for both current road condition and prevention of further deterioration. After this study we will look at additional spending if needed for road improvement.
Council members Andrea Mandel and Sonia Gawas have spoken to several companies that perform these road evaluations and are looking forward to analyzing the results of the new study.
