As Patch previously reported, the initiative brings together every municipal police department in Mercer County, along with county and state law enforcement agencies.

The first phase begins Thursday, Oct. 22, along Routes 29 and 129 in Trenton, with enforcement continuing countywide throughout the year.

Officers will target speeding, impaired driving, distracted driving and other dangerous behaviors.

The initiative will include speed enforcement, DUI checkpoints and coordinated patrols.
