West Windsor Arts Council Offers New Certificate For Students

The West Windsor Arts Council will offer a Certificate in Fine Arts (CiFA) beginning this fall.

WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — The West Windsor Arts Council will offer a Certificate in Fine Arts (CiFA) beginning this fall, the council announced Wednesday morning. This new program is designed for students committed to achievement in the arts.

“This is an exciting addition to our youth programming tailored to students focused on advancing their arts education,” West Windsor Arts Council Executive Director Aylin Green said. “Our goal is to build and sustain our students’ skill levels and love for the arts, as well as provide learning and accomplishments that will enrich their lives far into the future, no matter what their chosen field.”

Students in the CiFA program select either a Visual Arts or a Performing Arts track and progress from two years of foundational education to more advanced coursework within their area of study. All other students can continue to sign up for any classes and workshops that interest them.

Students can learn more about the program, along with all fall classes and workshops, at the art center’s Open House on Saturday, Sept. 7, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Teaching artists, staff and board members will be on hand to answer questions and provide informal tours of the facility. The afternoon will also include musical entertainment and light refreshments.

“There is so much going on at the arts center, and there are so many ways for people of all ages to get involved, from volunteering to teaching, exhibiting to learning,” Green said. “We’ll be talking a little bit about everything we do and leading some fun activities.”
