WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ - A West Windsor resident and graduate of West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South has been awarded a National Merit Allergan Foundation Scholarship, the Allergan Foundation announced.

Lily Zhu is one of four students from New Jersey awarded a scholarship from the foundation in 2019, it announced. The Allergan Foundation is a U.S.-based private charitable foundation endowed by Allergan plc.

Zhu will receive the scholarship for the 2019-20 school year, and can be renewed for up to three years of additional college undergraduate study. The other New Jersey students who received scholarships for 2019 include:
  • Preet Kadakia, Parlin, NJ; Sayreville War Memorial High School;

  • Savan Patel, Belle Mead, NJ; Montgomery High School.

The Allergan Foundation Scholarship Program is available for eligible children of U.S. and Puerto Rico-based Allergan employees, and is administered by National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). Scholarship winners were chosen by NMSC on a competitive basis, including academic record throughout high school, significant activities and contributions to the school and community, test scores, the school's recommendation of the candidate, and the student's essay about personal characteristics, activities, plans, and goals. The four New Jersey students were among 17 winners of the 2019 Allergan Foundation Scholarship awards around the country.
