West Windsor PD Increases Patrols To Enforce School Bus Safety

West Windsor police will be out in force on multiple days to ensure drivers are following the law as students go back to school.

WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — West Windsor police will be out in force on multiple days to ensure drivers are following the law as students go back to school.

The West Windsor Police Department will specifically be looking for aggressive drivers, especially those passing school buses, police said on Wednesday.

“Our No. 1 priority is the safety of the students, pedestrians and bicyclists, and the motoring public,” police said.

Any driver who passes a stopped school bus may be issued a motor vehicle summons for NJSA 39:4-128.1 (mandatory court appearance) which, if convicted, carries five points and:
(1) a fine of not less than $100.00;
(2) imprisonment for not more than 15 days or community service for 15 days; or
(3) both for the first offense.
