1 Dead In Interstate 295 Crash In Carney's Point

CARNEY'S POINT, NJ — One person died after a car accident on Interstate 295 Southbound in Carney's Point, authorities said.

On Sunday at about 10:29 p.m., police responded to a one-car crash at mile marker 5.6, according to authorities.

The investigation showed the car had gone off the interstate and struck a tree, causing the car to catch on fire, authorities said.

The driver of the car, who has not been identified, died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to authorities.
