100 Universities to Attend College Fair at RCGC

Deptford Twp. – Area high school students are invited to the annual College Fair hosted by the Gloucester County Professional Counselors’ Association on Thursday, Oct. 16 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Rowan College at Gloucester County.

University representatives from as near as Philadelphia and as far as Boston and Tampa Bay will venture to the RCGC campus to discuss the many academic opportunities awaiting students. Parents and teens can learn more about financial aid and scholarship assistance as well as obtain literature on programs of study, campus amenities and student life.

The College Fair exposes students to institutions of higher education they might not otherwise have the chance to learn about, facilitating comparison to local colleges. More than 100 universities will participate in this year’s event. Such include Boson, Drexel, East Stroudsburg, Penn State, Rowan, Rutgers, Saint Joseph’s and West Virginia universities; the Culinary Institute of America, Art Institute of Philadelphia and Moore College of Art.

The College Fair will take place in the RCGC Physical Education Center. For more information call 856-468-5000, ext. 6272. Those interested in staying local can also attend the Rowan College at Gloucester County Open House, slated for the same night from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the College Center.

Prospective RCGC students can tour the campus and meet admissions personnel. Rowan College has one of the lowest per-credit tuition rates in the state of New Jersey. It offers more than 70 academic- and career-oriented programs in addition to a nationally-renowned athletics department.

Rowan College at Gloucester County is located at 1400 Tanyard Road in Deptford, just off Exit 56 of Route 55.
