12 West Deptford Runners Race the Philly Marathon

A dozen locals took on the 26.2 miles of the Philadelphia Marathon on an unseasonably warm Sunday morning, with five of them cracking the four-hour barrier.

Committeewoman Denice DiCarlo was the fastest local woman and fastest overall, clocking a 3:22:40 for an average of 7:43 per mile.

It was a wife-husband affair at the top of the leaderboard, too—John DiCarlo was the fastest local man, finishing in 3:24:19.

Three others—Scott Essex, Suzanne Owens and David Pilaitis—hit the tape under the four-hour mark.
