SWEDESBORO, NJ — A former corrections officer from Gloucester County was sentenced on Monday after he smuggled contraband into the Atlantic County Justice Facility, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.
Christopher Piccioni, 35, of Swedesboro, was given five years in jail after he pleaded guilty to second-degree conspiracy to commit official misconduct.
From October 2023 through March 2024, inmate Dion Robinson's girlfriend, Qydreia Smith, paid Piccioni thousands of dollars for packages of drugs and cell phones to be brought inside to him.
Smith and Robinson also pleaded guilty to second-degree conspiracy and are awaiting sentencing, according to the prosecutor's office.
