GLASSBORO, NJ — One person was taken to the hospital after a tractor-trailer flipped over along Route 55 on Monday morning, the Gloucester County Emergency Management department said.

At around 4 a.m., a two-vehicle crash involving an overturned truck occurred near the Ellis Mill Road overpass and Exit 48.

According to State Police, early evidence showed that a side-swipe collision occurred between the truck and a Jeep SUV.

The truck was loaded with food products and blocked all lanes and shoulders of the road.

The Gloucester County Hazmat team also assisted the Glassboro Fire Department with a diesel leak, which has been cleared.

The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, officials said.

No other injuries were reported.

The road was estimated to be closed for hours. At least one lane of traffic has reopened.

The southbound ramp from Ellis Mill Road is still accessible.
