MILLVILLE, NJ — The member of law enforcement and the man who died in an officer-involved shooting on Thursday have both been identified, according to the New Jersey Attorney General's Office.
Officers responded to the 300 block of Hazel Boulevard for a report of a domestic disturbance in the morning.
Neighbors told ABC the "standoff" began at 8 a.m. and that detectives were still going in and out of the home late into the night.
Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office Sergeant John Borelli shot Shaun Murphy, 47, of Millville, during an encounter inside the home.
Murphy was later declared dead.
Officials recovered a handgun at the scene.
The case is still under review and no additional information is available.
