VINELAND, NJ — Gerresheimer's glass packaging plant in Vineland is shutting down and laying off 139 employees, according to a notice filed with the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) system in New Jersey.
The German business produces vials and other containers for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics brands.
Layoffs at the Vineland location will begin on September 1 and conclude by the end of July 30, 2027.
Jutta Lorberg, Gerresheimer's senior director of communication and marketing, told the Philadelphia Business Journal that while they are moving production out of Vineland to consolidate in North Carolina, they will keep a product development division made up of 15 employees at 91 West Forest Grove Rd.
