WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A group of fishers found a gun in Grenloch Lake on Monday, the Washington Township Police Department said.
Two people were magnet fishing and using powerful magnets on ropes to look for things like scrap metal when they brought up a handgun.
They immediately contacted police, authorities said.
The Walther PPS version handgun showed prolonged exposure to the water and was confiscated as potential evidence.
Detectives are working to recover and verify its serial number, history, and see if it is connected to a crime.
Anyone with information is asked to contact (856) 589-0330.
