Bicyclist Killed After Being Hit By 2 Cars In Woodbury: Police

A man was charged with leaving the scene.

WOODBURY, NJ — A bicyclist died on Monday night after being hit by two cars, the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office said.

At around 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a call from the first driver who reported the crash along Delsea Drive

The driver said they hit the bicyclist, who then fell into the road and was hit by another vehicle.

The second driver continued north along Delsea Drive. According to a witness, the driver briefly stopped in the road before leaving.

After around two hours, Iqrar Ahmad, 18, of Deptford, returned to the scene and told authorities he was the second driver.

He said he saw a bicycle and another car in the road, and felt his car hit something that he thought was a rock or other large object.

Ahmad told officials he pulled over further north and noticed damage to the lower grille of this car, but still did not realize that he had hit someone.

He went home, and after talking with family, came back to the scene.

Ahmad is charged with one count of second-degree leaving the scene of a fatal accident and faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in jail.
