Shelter-In-Place Order Lifted In NJ Town Following Building Explosion

The explosion caused "extensive damage" to the facility as well as a neighboring building on Wednesday, authorities said.

LOGAN TOWNSHIP, NJ — A shelter-in-place order has been lifted in Logan Township following a building explosion.

In an update posted at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Gloucester County Emergency Management said the shelter-in-place has been lifted for all residents and businesses within two miles of Heron Drive and High Hill Road.

According to authorities, a commercial building explosion caused "extensive damage" to the facility, as well as a neighboring building.

The incident is being investigated by multiple agencies, officials said.

Fire and hazmat units remain on location, monitoring a burn off of additional fuel product stored on-site, and continue to conduct air monitoring in the community.

While authorities did not specify where the explosion occurred or if any injuries have been reported in their update, a report from CBS News Philadelphia said four people have been injured.
