Car Stolen With Kids Inside, Police Ask For Public's Help In South Jersey

BRIDGETON, NJ — Bridgeton Police released an image of a person they believe is connected to the theft of a car with kids inside on Tuesday.

The children were quickly found safe in the vehicle by officers.

"We are asking for the public's help...Even the smallest detail could help," the department said on social media.

At around 1:20 a.m., officers responded to the Wawa at 101 East Broad St. for a report of a vehicle that was stolen with two young children inside.

The driver, and also the mother of the children, according to NJ Advance Media, left the car running with the 1-year-old and 7-year-old still inside while she went into the store.

When she returned, the car was gone.

Police were able to locate the car with the kids inside in around 30 minutes.

According to police, information can stay anonymous and be submitted anytime through bpd.tips.
