Casey Heitman Tabbed as New Girls' Basketball Coach at WDHS
The West Deptford girls' assistant takes over the helm from former coach J McKeown.
filled its last coaching vacancy Monday night, as the school board unanimously approved an in-house candidate to fill the girls’ basketball head coaching spot.
Casey Heitman, who had a two-year stint as West Deptford Middle School’s coach before moving up as an assistant coach at the high school, was selected from three candidates for the position.
Heitman spent three years with now-former head coach J McKeown, who announced his move to the boys’ bench last month. She'll take over a program that loses three starters—Danielle McKeown, Tarryn Bundy and Megan Kirschling—who helped the team to back-to-back playoff runs.
